History of the Cellar

"The Baglio Ingardia Winery has a history that is rooted in the Sicilian winemaking tradition, located in the Mazara Valley area, in the heart of western Sicily, near Marsala. Founded by a family of winemakers with a long tradition in the sector, the winery was born with the aim of producing quality wines that reflect the Sicilian territory, its traditions and its culture. The name “Baglio Ingardia” recalls a typical Sicilian rural construction, a baglio, which symbolizes the deep bond with the territory and the agricultural history of the island. Since its origins, the winery has focused on the enhancement of native vines, such as Nero d'Avola, Grillo, Catarratto and Perricone, grown in the surrounding hills. Over the years, the company has been able to combine tradition with innovation, adopting modern techniques of winemaking and vineyard management, always respecting the environment and biodiversity. The winery has worked to obtain a superior quality of its wines, focusing on sustainable methods and on a production that best expresses the characteristics of the Sicilian territory."
