History of the Cellar
"Cantina Altarocca is a winery located in Umbria, precisely in the Orvieto area, one of the most renowned wine areas of the region. The company was founded in 2000 by Luca Maroni and is spread over a hilly territory, characterized by an ideal microclimate for growing vines. The winery takes its name from the place where it is located, ""Altarocca"", which recalls the beauty of the landscape and the surrounding nature. The project was born with the intent to create quality wines, respecting the territory and local traditions, but with a modern and innovative approach to winemaking. Cantina Altarocca focuses mainly on the production of white wines, in particular Orvieto, one of the most representative wines of Umbria. However, it also produces red and sparkling wines, using native vines such as Trebbiano Spoletino, Grechetto and Sangiovese, as well as international varieties such as Chardonnay. The company is strongly linked to sustainability and environmental protection. The vineyards are managed according to agricultural practices that respect nature, trying to minimize the use of chemicals. The winery itself is equipped with modern technologies to optimize the winemaking processes, while maintaining the utmost respect for the organoleptic characteristics of the grapes and the territory."
