History of the Cellar
The Sorricchio family of Valforte, originally from the ancient town of Atri, in the Teramo hills, has owned the baronial fiefdom of Valforte since the 14th century. There are various testimonies that speak of a very well-known and influential family, whose characters achieved fame in politics and the arts. The historians Nicola and Luigi Sorricchio are in fact responsible for the most important manuscripts containing documents, information and archaeological research on the history of the city of Atri.
