History of the cellar

Villa Travignoli located in Pelago, on the hills of the Chianti Rufina area, has 90 hectares of land, 70 of which are dedicated to lush vineyards, and 20 to the cultivation of the best olives. The geographical position and the soil consisting of limestone, clay and galestro, between 250 and 400 meters above sea level, make it perfect for the cultivation of grapes, such as Sangiovese, a characteristic vine of Chianti, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc, and therefore the production of fine wines.

The estate currently produces 300 thousand bottles of wine per year, 70% of which is exported abroad, from America to the East.

For some years, Villa Travignoli has embraced the idea of ​​sharing its history, opening its doors to the public and offering wine tourism experiences capable of satisfying the palates of both neophytes to the world of wine and the most curious wine lovers.

In 2023 the company celebrated its 550th anniversary.
